She was a beauty, no doubt. All fluster, indignation and tempting female. Her nose tipped up at the end and the fitting observation caused him to smile. Miss Shaw struck him as a female who turned her nose up on a great many things.

He was an easygoing sort. Why he’d become obsessed with a stranger who appeared as relaxed as a wasp’s nest proved baffling. He had more important subjects to consider and the distraction of a lovely female was the last thing he desired, never mind he’d had trouble chasing her memory from his thoughts all day. Still, she fascinated him for some illogical reason. He’d watched her mouth form every word, captivated by her lips, perfectly heart-shaped, plump and kissable, and instead of comprehending her message, he wondered of the taste of her kiss, the feel of tongue.

Terribly done of him, really. Miss Shaw appeared less than interested. Her back had been rigid, her shoulders squared, yet she really was all soft skin and feminine curves.

His mouth found hers with uncompromised precision, lost in the glory of her adamant return. Her fingers slid through the hair at his temples, locking him to her in an expression of eager participation that made his heart pound and his cock ache. She tasted like a dream, an ambrosial combination of feminine sweetness and forbidden fruit, the freedom he yearned for and the divine fantasy he’d conjured, united in the hot slick rub of her tongue against his, the petal-soft press of her mouth against his jaw, his chin, his cheek. She rasped some delicious little noise, a murmur in the back of her throat, an entreaty for him to pleasure her, and he supplicated with fervor, dragging his mouth across her cheekbone to find the delicate shell of her ear where he whispered all the wicked thoughts kept buried in his heart.

She stilled. Perhaps he’d revealed too much, offended her refined gentility. His pulse hammered, while he waited, his breath hard and fast. Then her lips found his, her tongue next with a timid caress of his lower lip, licking, tasting his mouth to continue their kiss until all thought became impossible, obliterated by the thrum of passion and urgency and need. He pressed her against the velvet bolster, his shirt against her dress little barrier to the soft skin she hid beneath. Her fingers twined in the braces at his shoulders, as if lifelines to anchor her, the threat of their passion enough to sweep them away.

He wanted to strip her bare, discover every inch from neck to navel, to tell her she’d answered the silent prayer he hadn’t known lived in his soul. To drive into her delicate honey-sweet sex and make her his alone. He fought the desire with all the strength he owned.

Author Bio

Mandi Beck has been an avid reader all of her life. A deep love for books always had her jotting down little stories on napkins, notebooks, and her hand. Man oh man am I rusty.  I can’t believe how long it’s been since I chatted on here about books.  It has been a crazy busy time with the kids plus trying to write another book. PHEW…clearly I suck. LOL

Well I have read some really awesome reads. I just finished Chance Encounter by the amazing Christy Reece.  Up on my immediate list is Debra Webb’s See Him Die and Pamela Clare’s Soul Deep. I also have a few ARC’s that I am going to dive into.  Come be my friend on GR to see. I at least have been writing some reviews there and on Amazon.

How about a little treat for y’all.  Tell me your favorite genre and something you are really looking forward to this summer. AND I will dig deep in my bookshelves for a PREZZIE.

I hope to finish my book with my writing partner.  I will be visiting my favorite beach thanks to my awesome sister in law and brother in law, I hope to catch up on my reading too.  I want this summer to go slowly even though I have been a driving fool for my kids because…in August I will be delivering 2 kids to college. And I have to say…it is weighing heavily.  Especially taking my baby girl. 

I have really missed this blog, and I hope to get back into it.  Being busy has got to stop being an excuse from getting to write.  It soothes my soul to sit and write.  Maybe this summer I will remember to do a little bit for me.

HOLY SMOKES…

CAN I JUST SAY…OHHHH MAH GAWD!

I was lucky to get an early copy to proof AND CAN I JUST SAY (again, I know I am repeating myself)…

PERFECTION!
RIVETING!!
BOOM!!!

I could not put this book down. I was completely captivated. I cannot tell you how much I have enjoyed the journey of getting to know AND love Jess and Dan. I am a HUGE fan of murder, suspense and a hard core serial killer. To be able to also combine all of this AND a kick ass love story…WELL THAT IS PERFECTION.

THIS story kept me on the edge of my seat. I kept putting my e-reader down, my heart was literally pounding. I was so torn…I wanted to know what was going to happen…BUT I was worried. LOL

I FLOVED the ending…what a wild crazy ride. AND the TWIST at the end…HOLY SMOKES….I knew that that character was off BUT HOT DAMN. I will not write spoilers…NOT how I roll. BUT I will tell you this series is A MUST READ. I can’t wait for The Wedding AND I am over the moon that while this case is closed. We will continue to see these characters in future books…

One of the best things about this series is that the supporting cast of characters are awesome too and I am looking forward to also seeing them in future books. Something tells me that Jess & Dan, Lori, Chet and even Buddy have lots more crime solving as well as other fun things in their future. These are characters that will stay with you long after the story is over.

Fans of romantic suspense MUST TAKE THIS RIDE…Debra Webb is a force to be reckoned with. An author that never disappoints me AND AN AUTO-BUY for sure.

I was so excited to go back and visit the Drunkin’ Duck and all the characters. I’ve been waiting impatiently for Molly’s story. And Cora Cade did not disappoint.

I LOVED Cal & Molly’s story. I also loved hearing about what Tenn & Noah have been up to. I’m dying for Chris’s story. I also am excited for the new characters who have been introduced.

Cora Cade weaves fabulous stories…hot, steamy, with great plot and even better characters. She better write faster as I’m already waiting for more!!!

I have a real thing for Chris so I hope his book is next and one of the best parts…she used my fave saying….If you like HOT SEXY BONE MELTING ROMANCE…READ, READ, READ!!!!!!

This wasn’t a typical romance in the fact that one was other worldly but during their time together these two both did a lot of soul searching and began to change. There was plenty of sexy moments between these two and even a bit of suspense towards the end. As with romantic ghost stories you wonder how there can ever be a happy ever after with one alive and one dead. I have to say I loved the ending. If you’re looking for a sexy ghost to make your girly bits tingle Luke is the ghost for you. ~Cindy
